Volunteer Program
Women's Resources relies upon its volunteers to serve in a variety of roles. We have a sixteen member Board of directors to provide direction and guidance to the organization. Other volunteers assist in community education, facilitating support groups, fund raising, and serving on our auxiliary board. Additionally, we rely on trained volunteers to provide coverage of our 24-hour hotline. Duties as a hotline worker include crisis counseling, advocacy and medical accompaniment.
An intensive seventy-hour training is required for those volunteers who work on our hotline. The Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training is offered every spring and fall.
Volunteering at Women's Resources is an excellent opportunity for personal growth, skill development and serving your community. Please contact the Volunteer Manager at (570) 424-2093 to discuss your interest in becoming a volunteer.
